It's that time of year again;
Time for the Autumn Generation
of Monarchs to make the long Journey SOUTH

After posting yesterday, I spent a while sitting with them outside
while they became acclimated to the temperature and oriented
to the direction in which the sun was moving to give them the
sense of direction necessary for the long migration to Mexico.

This year I wound up doing a BlackSwallowtail Rescue
when the No.Eastern cold spell caught the caterpillars
in the parsley patch by surprise...

They stop eating below a certain temperature, so
they stop developing toward the crysalis stage of
their development.

They were brought to me and I had to do some
fast research & foraging to keep them alive.

A busy morning so I only got up to Bart and Lisa hounding Homer. Right now I feel like Homer except it is "Can I have an iPhone?" "Can I have an iPhone?" "Can I have an iPhone?" "Can I have an iPhone?" from 13 year old daughter and now wife and son have started it.

The flip side is that anti commercial also works. My daughter has watched "SuperSize Me" twice and will not allow anyone she knows to step foot in McDonalds. She hasn't had a fast food meal in two years. Neither have I.

But even if you raise the kid right they have to go to school and make friends. And those friends are marketing robots. Called peer pressure.
